****Update 10/07/24 it appears that if you right click on the app and select 'Show Package Contents' and select the 'Contents' folder and select the 'MacOS' folder and then select the Unix executable file (exec) for 'DataWarrior' it opens up the app. Hope this helps any others with the same problem.
