Dear openmolecules,

I would like to ask whether there is a security option in Datawarrior, which would exclude read only users (students, guests) from accidentally editing the databases.

best

Dear Vassilios,

the databases from which DataWarrior can retrieve data (ChEMBL, COD, Patent Reactions, ...Wink cannot be changed by users. If data is changed after running searches, any changes are done locally only.

If you refer to the reference & sample files delivered with DataWarrior, or to files that you might put on a server for multiple people to access, then the only way to prevent them from being changed by a user is to change their access rights on the file system to read-only. How to do that depends on the operating system.

Hope this answers the question...
