Hi
First I would like to congratulate the developers of Datawarrior. It's just fantastic!
My computer system is windows7 Pro. To be able to run Datawarrior, I must turn on the computer and open datawarrior first. Then it works perfectly. If I want to open DW after using another application, I just cannot open it...
Does someone know how to fix this problem ?
Thanks
Gil

Hi Gil,
your problem seems to be related to a general Java runtime problem in Windows. When DataWarrior is launched it specifies a memory maximum that the Java runtime is allowed to allocate. Unluckily, on Windows a Java program is only started, if there is enough physical memory to satisfy the potential maximum need of memory. DataWarrior's maximum memory requirements on Windows are 1.2 and 2.4 GB for the 32-bit and 64-bit Java installations, respectively. If your computer has 4GB of memory, 64-bit JRE and 64-bit DataWarrior, the OS may need 1GB of memory and if you launch another program that takes 1GB before trying to launch DataWarrior then DataWarrior just doesn't start without telling you why, because the JRE decides not to start the application before it gets a chance to check for potential error messages. If you use a Mac or Linux you won't have that problem.
Hope that explains it,
Thomas
