Hi,
I ws looking to do a simple "find" text in DW... not find and replace, or find substructure or anything complex
Just find some text somewhere or multiple in one of the columns. I have a long of trade names, and need to see if this name is already in therw
apologies if I missed how to do it

that is easy: "Edit->New Filter", then choose the first option "<All Columns> [Text]". A new text filter appears that searches in all columns at once. If you would rather filter rows on trade names from one column only and if that column does not show a text filter already, you can add a new filter with the same menu item "Edit->New Filter", just select the [text] filter for that particular column.
