How would we draw an X = Y line on a 2D plot.

there is straight-forward way of doing that. You may show a fitted line that goes through your data.

Or you may cheat a little by adding two rows with points 0,0 and e.g. 100,100. Then introduce a new column. Put an 'A' in all the rows, except for the two new row, which receive a 'B'. In a 2D-scatter plot set marker color to reflect the new column and in 'Statistical View Options' select 'Fitted Line' and 'Spli by color category'. The you will have two lines, the fitted through your data and the X=Y.

Another alternative is to show a background picture with e.g. Gimp that contains the X=Y line.

Of course, both solutions are workarounds that may or may not work in your case...
